Tamara Alegre works with dance and choreography. Born in Gran Canaria, she studied European Business and Psychology and worked as an underground music curator until 2016. She started to dance with La Ribot in 2013 (Laughing Hole), then Mårten Spångberg (Natten and La Nature IRL) and more recently with Nikima Jagudajev (Louisiana), Pan Daijing (Tissues) , Dora García and Carlos María Romero. She recently graduated from an MA in Choreography at DOCH in Stockholm where she has initiated, together with three colleagues, POSSE, a weekly extra-scholarly dance and reading group that shares texts and dance material, in a spontaneous and laid-back way, hosted by a different practitioner each time. She also curated a POSSE that became an event in a public swimming pool in Stockholm.
At the moment, her work evolves on sensual embodiment, sexuality and physical states as choreographic tools. She premiered her first dance work, FIEBRE, at Les Urbaines festival, Lausanne, Switzerland last December. The combination of working as a dancer, making her own work and being involved in collaborative practices is essential for her.
